Thanks to all of you who came out for our Trails 2000 trail work night last night. We had a great crew of volunteers and everyone worked hard and had fun. Thanks also to Trails 2000 for all the awesome work they do for our community. Durango would not be as special of a place were it not for Trails 2000. We are proud to be a partner and the opportunity to give back in this way.
While many of us were out working on trails, others of us were ripping it up at the Zia Town Series Short Track race last night. Catacombs sponsors this series as it is a local, homegrown outlet for adults and kids to race mountain bikes and have fun. This series runs through September and I will try to do a better job of keeping you posted on upcoming races. Let's get some more of the Catacombs crew jumping into these events or at least out there supporting. The next one is the Buckley Park eliminator on May 26th...right next to the future home of Catacombs!
Speaking of events and causes we sponsor, the Thirsty Thirteen half marathon is almost full. We have a good number of Catacombs athletes planning to run this one and it should be fun. You know you are going to wish you had signed up come August when all your friends are doing it. Go ahead and get registered now. If you need help with a training plan or someone to help keep you accountable, let me know. We would be happy to help.
Finally, start thinking about Memorial Day Murph. We will have another post on this coming soon, but mark your calendars now. You don't want to miss this one.
