Kelsey (more commonly known as KMac) can’t remember a time when athletics hasn’t been a part of her life. Growing up in a sport-dominated household, she fell in love with sports and competing. She graduated from Plymouth State University in 2007 with a degree in Exercise Science and had a very successful career as a two-sport collegiate athlete (soccer and lacrosse).
KMac has been coaching/training adults, kids, and teens for over 10 years. She began her career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach/Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Plymouth State University. In 2008, she entered the rehabilitation and personal training world, working as an Exercise Physiologist under the tutelage of several Physical Therapists in the Boston, MA area. In 2010, Kelsey was the Women’s Head Lacrosse Coach at Fort Lewis College. There she designed and implemented the team’s strength and conditioning programming, in addition to performing the Head Coaching duties. During her time at Fort Lewis, she also developed the girl's youth lacrosse program in Durango. After a four-year stint at Fort Lewis College, she was hired to coach the 2015 European Cup Israeli National Women’s Lacrosse team. Upon returning to Durango, a friend finally convinced her to try out CrossFit at Catacombs. She was instantly hooked and has been a member here since 2016 and a coach since 2019.
She loves working with athletes who want to improve their skills in gymnastics or Olympic lifts, and those who are interested in competing in CrossFit. KMac is very passionate about working with adaptive athletes and helping athletes who have been plagued with recurring injuries or experience mobility limitations and want to take the time to improve their movement, pain, and mobility to reach their potential both inside and outside of the gym.
