It’s back friends. The time for the January 2017 Whole Life Challenge is fast approaching. If you have been around Catacombs for very long, you know that we believe fitness has its roots in nutrition. If you are looking to improve your health and fitness in 2017, the Whole Life Challenge is a fantastic place to start. Many of you have participated in these challenges in the past and can attest to the value of spending 8 weeks focusing on good lifestyle and nutrition decisions (and the challenge of sticking with it!). The support of your teammates makes an otherwise long and difficult challenge a little more manageable. I am a veteran of multiple nutrition challenges (WLC and other) and I can honestly say that I have never participated in one without coming away from it better than when I started.
If you’ve never heard of the Whole Life Challenge, it is 8 weeks of focus on nutrition, sleep, stretching, exercise, stress management and a whole host of other lifestyle factors. The power comes in accountability to our team and the encouragement and support that our community provides through this forum. It basically works like a game where you get points every day for achieving certain criteria. You choose your level of buy-in and there is a leaderboard to see how you stack up with the rest of the team. It requires daily interaction and commitment on multiple fronts. The competition is only within yourself, but the rewards of embracing this challenge and crushing it are life changing. I like this format because it creates a great environment to support one another and there is a level that works for everyone. It is not a one size fits all program and the resources they provide to help you succeed are unmatched. The cost is nominal and you get much more support than you would if you were relying solely on our coaching staff. These guys are pros.
The WLC begins January 21st which is still a ways away. That’s okay, it gives you time to solidify your workout schedule and regain your consistency in the gym prior to kicking it off. I’m telling you about it now because early registration ends January 4th and early registration saves you $10. Why not go ahead and commit? Catacombs Fitness has setup a team and we welcome as many of you as are willing to join us. But we will not twist your arm or guilt you into participation. You see, over the years, I have come to believe that nutrition is THE most powerful weapon we have in the arsenal of health. I also know without a doubt that you have to be ready for change or it is a waste of everyone’s time. We stand ready to support each and every one of you through this nutrition and lifestyle challenge. If you are ready, we are pumped to be your partner through it. If this is not your time, don’t worry. Your time will come. We won’t judge you or question your commitment. We are still really glad you are here.
I’d love to talk with you more about the details of this and whether or not it is right for you. You owe it to yourself to at least understand what the options are. We can customize any of the available options for where you are on the nutrition and lifestyle journey. If you are just getting started at Catacombs or considering getting started with CrossFit, this is for you too. I promised that I wouldn’t twist anyone’s arm, but if you are serious about your health and fitness in 2017, nutrition has to be on your radar.
If you know you are ready and want to register, sign up through the Whole Life Challenge website. Make sure you sign up for the Catacombs Fitness team. That allows us to have a closed online community where we are helping each other rather than dealing with the thousands of others participating at the same time. The cost for sign up with the Whole Life Challenge in early registration is $39. If you have participated previously, that drops to $29. After January 8th, the price goes up to $49. There is no additional fee to Catacombs Fitness. We just want as many of you as possible to join us.
There will be much more information on this in the coming days and weeks. In the meantime, let us know if we can answer any questions for you.
